Encouraging someone when they’ve hit a wall and are frustrated is, of course, a good thing. Reminding them that it’s “always darkest before the dawn” and “change is right around the corner” is also helpful. But there are times these encouraging words just aren’t enough. When someone is brutally honest and says, “I know. But I’ve been here so many times.” They are tired of the cycle. We all know that cycle. We hit a wall, we pick ourselves up, only to find ourselves at that same frustrating point later on. I offer you my top 7 habits to bring the current year to a close. You’ll see that this is the perfect time to plan out next year so that you can hit the ground running. If you wait until after the New Year, you may lose weeks, maybe even months before you get up and going. No need for that! You have too much to accomplish! You know jet lag, right? Your body needs time to catch up to the time difference. In this episode, I discuss the lag time between being ready for the results you want and the results showing up. Whether its changes in your business or personal growth, it can be very frustrating when you’re all ready but the world doesn’t seem to recognize that yet. It’s like heading out on a 3 hour road trip that now seems like it takes all day. Similarly, you’ve done all the right things and are ready to receive the success you deserve. This past week in the U.S. has shook many people to their core. There are many people who can’t understand why. Name calling, lack of compassion…all sorts of ugliness going on. It’s like watching your children fight and sometimes you know what’s best is to send everyone to a separate corner. Maybe that’s what’s needed here. Everyone just focus on their corner of the world. Create the world you want. Throughout history, creativity has played an important role in tumultuous times like these. I suspect, hope, that through our unique individuality creative solutions can present themselves. That important art can be created to record the time. That transformative thinkers can be leaders. Time will tell. But I have no doubt, creativity will play an important role.
